I grew up around construction sites but pursued a completely different path studying art history and obtaining my MA from Georgetown University. After graduating, I worked in art consulting in Washington DC, helping clients build collections and commission public art projects. Many clients were real estate developers and the exposure made me yearn to contribute to projects in a larger way. I wanted to create spaces that have the same transformative power that drew me to art. 

 

I began working as a project assistant for contractors and developers by day and enrolled in night classes to learn more about the many intricacies of what it takes to bring a design to fruition. Before leaving DC, I spent several years working with an award-winning developer and designer on projects ranging from micro units to a hotel. In 2018, I returned to San Diego and founded Mia Sher Development and Design. 

 

Currently, I offer interior design services to individuals and businesses, and also design and build my own projects for sale. I love getting to know clients personalities and collaborating to ensure that their taste is reflected in their living space. However, I also enjoy creating my own spaces for people to fall in love with. 

 

I approach every project with a discerning and creative eye, identifying it’s unique personality and going above and beyond to bring visions to reality.
